Ok, we can simply say that we cannot point a finger directly to one particular group. Although, there hasn't been any changes within social institutions that point towards an egalitarian society. Racism is still painfully apparent in everything from the media to various social institutions. Ex. The war on crime/drugs is actually a war against ethnic people of the lower class. The glass ceiling effect is still prevalent and effects the opportunities for job advancement for people of color, especially ethnic women. Arizona has officially taken Ethnic studies out of their educational curriculum and focus on white's version of American history. ETC!!!!!! The list is too long to mention. One last thing, the persistent view of white history, music, and literature as superior to that of history, music, and literature from countries of color. This is an attempt to infer superiority by making people of color seem inferior in every sense. We can do this for as long as you like, i'm a Sociology/American Ethnic Studies major.
