Lil Wayne has always been and will always be complete trash lyrically. My baby cousin can kill him freestyle. That is not to say he hasn't made a club track or two that isn't entertaining. But any references to a time or track where he was "hot" or "crack" or "piff" lyrically is the product of nothing more than a delusional clueless mind. Everytime a new Wayne tape comes out, there always has to be a big arguement over if Wayne is hot or not. Its a personal opinion, who cares what the next man thinks, if you like it you do if you dont...you fuckn dont. This tape is OK, I am not that impressed by Weezy this time around. I wasn't to big on the drought 4 either. I dont like this pop/rap style the due is tryn to bring...just dont work, keep it 100 gangsta. Now, the drought 3 was straight fire, play from the beginning to the end (and that shits 2 cds too). 4 and 5 got a few good songs. And 2 will always be classic.

I usually don't comment on here, but I often read them. With that said, let me get right in to it. There are a few things that I have read, often recycled ideas, every time that a "new" wayne mixtape comes out that has turned me momentarily from reader to author... 1- Let's start off by addressing the issue of greatest rapper, Lil Wayne is simply not the one. I wish he were, rather, I wish he would live up to the potential and become that, but as of right now, to proclaim him that is absurd. He's great when he wants to be, but doesn't have the balance of the greats. There are too many rappers that are superior to Wayne in many aspects of rapping to call him even the best of today. I think he's top 5 right now (when everything is added up). 2- Another issue that is often brought up on this message board, which I really agree with, is that every week or two there is a new Lil Wayne mixtape. However, most of the time it is some shit that was on the last 10 "new" Wayne mixtapes... honestly, it sickens me. I wish that DJ's would have a little self respect, and not put out the same shit that they heard on another man's mixtape. Also, just because it comes out of Wayne's mouth, doesn't mean the shit should ever be heard by ears. I mean, come on, I know I'm not the only one to listen to some of these tracks and think, wow, this guy calls himself the best, but actually allowed this trash to be recorded? I think that the DJ's are at fault for allowing this shit to come out, and it at times has lead me to give up on Weezy. 3- Lil Wayne seems to listen to himself too much. He often lacks lyrical content, actually he almost always lacks lyrical content. I understand that these are mixtapes, but is it too much to ask for to kind of make sense? Just because a string of syllables ryhme don't mean that they should be strung together...Damn, I'm having a Wayne moment... I'm writing, but not really getting at my point, which I guess is that I think the concept of "how many bitches I fuck" or "how good I am in bed" has really ran it's course, especially when he's saying this coinciding with his claim to be the greatest rapper alive. I think that if he would get off of the lean for a day... well, that's an issue all together 4- I've become bored with writing, so I'll rap it up- Wayne's music has been cursed by it's success. He seems to have hit a point where putting out verses everyday has replaced putting out good verses. Don't get me wrong, I'm part of the problem, hell I have downloaded many Wayne mixtapes, knowing that I already had most of the tracks just to hear the 2 or 3 i hadn't heard. I know I'm gonna get bombarded with the people telling me "how ya gonna hate, if you don't like him, then..." but I really don't care. The fact is I like Wayne, and I really hope that his success hasn't lead to his downfall... and some of the stuff off of recent mixtapes are hot, but you just have to filter through way too much garbage to get to the shit worth listening to. Before you bitch at me, consider this- remember what you thought the first time you listened to the prefix, suffix, dedication, dedication 2, and da drought... to name a few, well when was the last wayne mixtape that had that type of effect? WHether it is him, or the DJ's that parasite on to his success to blame, is neither here nor there. Simple fact is, for someone who get's so much credit for being the best, there is lot of verses he spits that even Memphis Bleek would put in the trash. Oh yeah, this tape- umm, yeah... I suppose it is okay... sad thing is the hottest beat on the whole thing (which was out for weeks maybe even months down here in New Orleans) he comes real weak on. Think about how many other rappers would flat out kill Milli, and that's all he did with it? Come on Wayne... Guess we will have to wait 2 weeks or so to truly find out.
