We can start by mentioning the two most financially sucessful rappers of all time with Jay Z and Diddy (although i'll admit diddy cant spit to save his life). Then we can talk about rappers like Fat Joe, Fabolous, Camron, Jadakiss,DMX, and 50 Cent, who all have multi platinum records to their name as well as multiple number one hits. Then we can talk about up and coming artists like Lloyd Banks, Vado, Joell Ortiz, and so on. Then we can talk about the history of female rappers, with all of the best females like Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Remy Ma, hell we can even mention MC Lite, and Queen latifa (though technically shes from jersey)and not to mention the number one female MC out now nicki minage. Finally, we can talk about the ground breaking, legendary artists, some already mentioned, such as Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, Run DMC, the Wu Tang Clan and lets not forget that Tupac was from NY and his first rap name was MC New York. Im not even going to waste my time explaining the progression of music from the early 1900s. Second of all, almost none of the people I mentioned were really hot in the 90s, try 2000s. Third, how many rap albums went platinum this past year? Waynes, Eminems, Fabs, and Jay Zs (maybe TIs). Thats half the platinum records coming from new york.
