- I live in Tampa,Fl but im always checkin on my rental house out there in N.O and checkin on my family out there.. Believe it or not the city is doing just fine, other than the crime, and the NOPD officers gettin arrested for the Danziger Bridge shootings and shit like that, it's doing aiight, projects are already moving, Construction is going on all over the place, All the Old Industrial projects is gettin torn down (thank god), Ibverville gone stay up tho, they gone tear it down in phases but slowly so they let people back in that, Magnolia look like a whole notha nieghborhood, 9th ward look futuristic, got some crazy lookin houses out there, some of the houses have the ability to float, some are real high off the ground and they all are green compliant using recycled rain water, solar panels, and ability to withstand 200 MPH wind.

Canal street look Nice, They're voting on right now tryin to get it to look like a smaller version of Ny time Square with Digital Strips and Large LCD boards all over the place, the old folks voting it down, they want it to stay lookin old but im kinda between both, i want some new and some old.... And Man The Superdome Looks NIIIIIICCCCCEEEEE, They been working on the outside side Panels and redoing the inside last year, you couldn't see the work going on because they were working behind the Superdome while the season was going on, now it's pretty much done, the Whole Superdome look Shiny gold now.. wait until ya'll see on TV lmao! it's reflective so you'll see the clouds and buildings kinda reflecting off it, it's got windows too now..
- They started building on the 3 Billion Dollar VA hospital downtown, New condo's are poppin up all over the place, the Bio Medical corridor is about to take flight so soon Houston will have some competition in that field, Im part of a group called 504ward which is a group of Young Entrepreneurs and business starters, we're teamed up with Google, Microsoft, IBM, EA, and a bunch of other big companies, that is basically an incubator or thinking engine for training, lecturing and preparing future business minds, and entrepreneurs and retain them in New Orleans our website http://www.504ward.com/
- The Oil is a big issue right now, a lot of communities that depended on the seafood industry and other jobs that work in the gulf are threatened now, but BP is a 2 Trillion dollar company so they got the funds to break everybody off and clean up all that water, but they know it's going to be a long fight, because BP Paper is LOOooooong! Hopefully the fed'z figure somethin out for the people affected.. But good news is, New Orleans and Metro Orleans has already been moving toward the Bio Medical and Manufacturing fields and less dependent on the Gulf, and Tourism, a lot of companies are moving out there, The Movie industry is already out there, there's 14 New Sound stages in New Orleans alone and about 8 outside of New Orleans, 22 Movies, TV Shows, Comedies, and series will film out there in the next 3 years It's been declared Hollywood south out there.. So all is good in one spot, not so good in another.. One good thing tho Nagin's no longer Mayor...

They have a new show called Memphis Beat comin on TNT I think, but they are filming it in New Orleans because N.O. is the closest thing to Memphis and Tennessee doesnt have tax breaks for movie and tv shows being filmed here, they said they saved millions in taxes just by filming it in Louisiana. So look for the show thats suppost to be in Memphis but has New Orleans in the background the whole time!!

thats good to know that NO is finally recovering...and as for the Hollywood of the south...thats whats up lol, my new favorite show is Treme on HBO...Same director from the Wire. I respect his appreciation for the musical culture in that series...I just can't wait to visit soon and 2nd line and party with the fam in the 9th and up in Slidell.
