the one problem is, I've heard all Lupe's songs and he never claimed to be a skater! He claims to be a dope MC, and that he is. I think w/ "kick,push" he was trying to pay homage to a culture he loves. Ross is a good Rapper but If he sells as many bricks as he says, he's a great multi-tasker, because that dosen't leave much tme for rap. Plus talking about it will get a Fed case.

Also skaters have had theme songs for years, there's a little group out of Long Island named Public Enemy that had a charming lil ditty called Fight The Power that the skate set was particularly fond of.I won't even mention the Beasties.

Claiming to be a drug kingpin and claiming to be a skater are two sides of a drastically different coin. One does not have to skate WELL in order to be a skater. At least he has done it (unlike ross). He may not have been good, but I'm sure he probably has friends who do it all the time.

"Kick Push" was just a story. Why isn't this man allowed to tell a story? He never said the boy in the story was him. Ross perpetrates a lifestyle that was never his own, parades it around, and tells it's tale like a first hand account. That is not storytelling, not when you can't admit it's something that isn't your own. Lupe just told a story. He even said that it isn't him.

While doing that i decided to start listening in on Rock, Metal, Post Rock, punk, nintendo core etc.

but i didn't grow up in the suburbs.. i grew up right off of Airline hwy in Bunch Village.. Any Nigga from Orleans Parish, River Parish or Jefferson Parish know where that's at lol.. it's the HOOD, thats where all the murders and shit mostly happen lmao, but when every other person in that area is your relative or a friend of a relative you aint really got shit to worry about, i can go out there now with all that crime going on and feel comfortable walking up and down each street today lol!! I have the same opinion on "intelligence". I'm just sayin that's how I was raised, I never noticed it til like the age of 10, when I had to stay wit my Uncle for a bit in Charlotte, but people got use to it as they got to know me. Anyway, havin an accent or how u talk doesn't mean shit. But for some reason, that's how a lot of people think, and I'm able to bank on that. Yeah man. I thought about that for the longest and I get it now. When, I lived in Charlotte, I was surrounded by other people in the same situation...low-income and when I stayed in Greensboro on two occasions...we weren't making that much (about 20K a year), but I went to a majority white school (with the majority of students coming from high-income families). I didn't really think about that having an effect on me or w/e, but I think you're right. I still prefer to enunciate when I talk and use an allegedly "big vocab" JUST BECAUSE (that's what I'm gonna fuckin do) and because it grants me a lot of freedoms. People feel comfortable with a person who acts allegedly "white" lol, so they wouldn't suspect anything out of the ordinary. Fuck it tho, I'm not trying to "act white" (w/e the fuck that is), I'm just being myself.
