I heard they even discontinued the video game "Guitar Hero" because is not sellin no more. They said most kids fuck with hiphop nowadays. I fuck with a lil bit of rock music myself, mostly rock legends like Nirvana, Korn, and Rage Against The Machine, dats about it. Dats when rock music was live tho, nowadays it sucks! Hiphop & Pop Music took over the music industry.

i dont think rock is dead at all theres alot of good bands out there,i gotta admit the mixtape selections have been dead for a minute i think i keep 1 tape out of three pages now and go back to the tapes from early last year.those 3 cd's the game put out are the most i kept in months

Guitar Hero is failing because Activision runs good game IPs into the ground (see Tony Hawk Ride). Furthermore, Guitar Hero is not the genre of Rock music. Rock Band is doing amazing in sales because it continues to break the video game/musical instrument barrier with each release.
Pop has ALWAYS run the industry. There's a reason it's called "pop culture". Rap & hip-hop release music daily because it's all bootlegged and "leaked." With tracks being made on computers and hundreds of thousands a day, of course you can just pump out 28 mixtapes in 28 days like it's nothing. You can't do that with live instruments. It's not dead. It has transformed. As a former fan of the bands you listened above (in middle/high school Korn was my favorite band) I've definitely transitioned into the rap scene. I love rap music better than the rock that is made today. Not to say that I don't listen to rock today, because I certainly do, but when I can get five top notch mixtapes in one weekend (All Star Weekend) and MAYBE one decent rock album this whole month... I'm going to take rap first.
