I owe mixtapetorrent so much so I decided to start reviewing on the site. and before I go in about what I think about this mixtape I'm going to give yall my list of G.O.A.T.s be advised I'm 23 and I don't a flying fuck on what yall think on my list that's why its my list. but I will have the decency to explain why I'm diggin them don't mean you gotta treat my shit like the bible if don't agree then okay. 1. 2Pac (G.O.A.T, Revolutionary, this man is the reason I read more about my people and how We Are Still Fucking UP. But we getting there But lets kill this Bling shit in hip-hop and get back to stories, social awareness, the community, etc. On the other side I like gangsta rap too so I'm no upity nigga.) 2. Biggie (The Lyrical Monster. I will play Ready to Die anyday of the week. That album captures how a nigga on the grind feel. Gimme the Loot. Let's be real that's Goon shit. His stories were out of this world. Smoke a blunt and play I gotta story to tell I bet you would feel like you there. 3. NaS (He's the MLK kinda of hip-hop. He's a deep nigga I say he's more of the intellectual nigga as many say I am out the group thanx to this nigga and pac. Lyrics wise Just listen to I gave you power. Crazy Song) 4. Wu-Tang Clan (9 amazing lyricists in one fucking group crazy. My older cuzzo had enter the wu on tape by the time i was 9 i bought the forever album can't tell me I don't Wu. I digg this "Ceo Hov" but I miss the hustler Hov 92-98 best years for Jay Z. One of his best songs I Can't get with that. those were crazy Lyrics. again I know like how this young nigga know this shit? Old soul I guess. He brings out the lyrics when he feels threatened on some battle/beer shit. expample: When Wayne was talking shit and Jay had to correct him with his 16 on Watch What You Say To Me. Niggas now getting use to niggas liking rock music thanks to Weezy. But Weezy isn't rock lets get that straight. He said himself Nrivana was his biggest inspiration but he doesn't show much of Kurt Cobain's poetry in his lyrics, the only thing they share is the look of a drug addict. And I'm a Nirvana fan so anyone thats says anything shut the fuck up. I love music not just hip hop I love Metallica, Korn, Daft Punk, Nujabes, etc. But if more music exec see this man's lyrics he will be more than underground even though he's doing good. I wanna see Tech on a Timberland beat or a Just Blaze. The dream would be DJ Premier. 11. Lil Wayne (I know yall thought I was a Weezy hater, But Y else would I be commenting on a Weezy mixtape. when we was 22-25 he was a beast, He had lyrics, he had storytellin he had it all. But it seems the drugs do most of the rappin for him now so when he's either in the sweet spot where they mix perfect in the head or somber he can spit. And before I piss off any syrup sippers or anyone else, I sip drank and I got family in Houston so they were putting me on when it started. I just downloaded the enitre Beatles catalog. Im waiting to get some shrooms to listen St. Pepper. I'll tell how that goes. Now to the Review of No Ceiling. The Most anticipated mixtape of the year. No Auto-tune. No Features, No BS is how I remember hearing it. And I can say this nigga had me thinking hes somewhere counting a stack of money laughing at me for liking him as he spits these new slow ass corny ass so called lyrics. Expample: Dedication 3 and I quote, "This a Big E beat, and Imma cook this shit like piggy meat YEAH!!"" WTF nigga is in the cup cause syrup dont get ur brain to saying "piggy meat". Anyway The first mixtape I got of this nigga was Drought 3 and people were saying it was wack compared to Dedication 1 and 2 and even prefix. So I went back and put them on the iPod then (to all my mixtapes DJS and artist, Fucking tag your shit correctly. Edit your metadata if you know what I mean If i get another track 0 of cd 0 on my zune its going in someone's skull.) But I was a weezy fan every mixtape every empire the Drought Is Over, every fucking waynes world, every one the nigga was on! Then i saw the exclusive shit and noticing i got the same time four fucking times under different mixtapes. So I learn to wait and look for either official shit of from biggy jiggy since his tapes are mixxes for the week of different artist. I Can not express how much I was disappointed with Dedication 3 and how I was now praising Drizzy Drake. (That boy is the future.) So I took a break and listened to So Far Gone and was like, "This nigga bringing back story telling." and think Wayne should sit back and his money and let Drake be the new guy. So here comes Wayne to say I'm back and I gotta say I feel like the old Wayne is back. Not the over drugged moanin and slurring over the track Wayne but a nigga that has something to say. Be that in mind he's braggin on shit that we can't afford. ( I wonder if he says Bugati does he get one free like some of them sponser shit. That'd be dope. Bugat nigga. Anyway This mixtapes feels like Drought 3. A lot like Drought 3. I'm able to understant him. No auto-tune (It's okay done right. 87% of artist are doing it wrong.hate to say.) So I put this on the Zune (which in a 120 gig love it fuck the iPod to damn confusing to edit the metadata. I smoke some bud and go off the Lil Wayne Mind of losse bitches, expensive clothes, gun (Really your going to jail for the same shit nigga so time to grow up and u got more charges in Arizona, damn better start writing them stories and shut up about what shit u do drug and illegal shit wise.) But I have to say I think this can't be the full mixtape cause we waited for 17 tracks and 3 werent songs. I think they will be a disc 2 like there was for Drought 3 or otherwise it doesn't feel like his usual 36 tracks of doing work. I will say I dug the shit. He's back on his flow which is a consciousness of money weed and women and who doesnt love that? Wasted I thought the nigga mentioned him pleading guilty to his recent charges in New Work. "Buy a pound, break it down, blow it like trial." Funny none the less. In Watch My Shoes giving props to his daughter, "Seen the Na Na Dance, glad to be Na Na dads" and even monetion his now extended family ( what is it 3 new kids, wow the new ODB in affect, and wasn't Trick Daddy as bad.)"Got to take care of them kids, I know who heard Obama." So for Lil Wayne fans that jumped on the Carter 3 (Wow so glad I didn't buy that. That would have been on ok mixtape, A mixtape! Not and album that you repackage 3 times with different songs that your heard on The Leak which was I digital album with like wat 6 tracks or somethin.) So I would have bought this over Carter 3. Great reemergenc of the Weezy we can fuck with in a regular. maybe a step down. (I'm a rock fan my nigga I find it hard to believe your rock maybe if this shit get me a interview and we compare mp3 players you can shut me up. But it kinda feels Hot Topic rock. If the niggas dont know what Hot Topic is. google it tell me his clothes dont seems like its from there with not even that much jewelery on anymore. Iv been a mixtapetorrent guy for about 3 years now, and i had to sign up for this today just to make a comment for the first time. Now considering this is the best material iv heard wayne come out with in about 2 years i cant complain. but some of these songs are still not on par. First off 'Wasted' deff sounds like it was made FOR autotune, hes trying to sing on that song its clear as day. Why would he ever make the song 'wayne on me'. how pre-teen is 'i got no ceilings'?? 'single' is not meant for any mixtape, love making songs??? and last prob the worst is 'sweet dreams'...what dude would bump that in their whip for others to hear unless you wanted to be known as a bitch.
