LOL wow..... well, as much as i want to disagree with you i truthfully can't.... i'm from the south 2 hours from New Orleans and nigga down here take pride in being "retarded" thats how they rock down here like its a good thing. I can't debate that it aint mostly the truth, you pretty much nailed it down as good as i could, i probably would have eloquently went through scenarios, explainations and shit but this will do..
I Held off even replyin to blackrome, i was gonna kinda just disregard his message as to not acknowledge some truthful aspects he spoke but it is what it is..
Im from The south, born and raised in New Orleans, i now live in FL, so im still in the south but have traveled a lot up north and have some outsider perspective on things, thats why it's so hard for me to be pleased alot and people only definition of my rhetoric is hate so arguments with me don't really go the way people want it to because im also pretty damn good at researching, this requires lots and lots of "READING" That puts me at an advantage when debates happen.
I'd have to say most of what ya'll say is true because it looks like *especially in the south* Dumbing down yourself is the only way to survive especially in poor hoods, you can't even pretend to have any intellect or you'll get either a lot of cold shoulders, called a nerd, or looked upon as a weak wimpy book smarty arty
It does appear if you go to jail your pretty much baptized into manhood, and if you do decide to stay in school you have to pretty much be the class fuck up on purpose even if your smart as hell, some kats even hold back tryin to strive harder for better grades to be apart of some clique that will give them street status instead of a higher IQ and a Degree, you witness it very well in places like Orleans Parishes and Jefferson Parishes or Hillsborough County in fl.
But i see it all changing now, charter schools are popping up in New Orleans, bringing smaller classrooms, kids that aint never thought they'd learn shit is learning, i see niggaz in the hoods tryin to get straight A's now, there's still a few pockets of the Thugs and thugs-in-training, but it's not overwhelming like it use to be, the schools aint shitty or crooked no more, kids actually learning shit now.. i see a big change, it's about too late for the nigga's that already made up their minds and now they're in their late 20's, 30's etc, that thought it was all fun while they were young now they pretty much have to use street survival skills to make bread or do some deadend job..
Anyway to comment on the tape i gave it a listen, i didn't need to take too many Painkillers so i'll rate it a 5/10. this kat got a lot to do before he get any respect in the rap game, you can't ride on Gucci fame and then become an extension of him, do ya own thing man!.. this wasn't even aiight, i forced myself to get through most of the songs..

I'm from Rome Georgia 30 minutes from atlanta, people take pride in going to school here going to jail makes you a man? Noone here thinks that, maybe some people in the projects but by no means does everyone think like that. As for Flocka no he isn't the greatest artist but lil jon wasn't either and if you think about it Flocka is a young lil jon, he's all about being loud and getting crunk, but if your from the north and you hate the south that's just you being ignorrant.
