You say that rap doesn't have to be about struggles and your right but since rap started its always been about struggles. The biggest rappers in the history of this genre have had more struggles than you can imagine. These are "hood struggles" and most kids in the hood rap to forget about their problems kids not from the hood rap to try to be something that naturally they are not. Wether people want to admit it or not there is a direct relationship between the hood and rap music, thats just were the music comes from, the style of dress, the language. If you don't believe me, list your top 5 greatest rappers and tell me if any of those stars are not from the hood and didn't struggle.
